Professional Background
As a non profit fundraising company, Saltonstall Consulting provides a full spectrum of fundraising consulting services to nonprofits looking to take their fundraising performance to the next level. Elizabeth works to deliver high-level strategic thinking, and strategic fundraising planning, development operational analysis, fundraising campaign implementation planning and advising to her 501(c)(3) clients. She adeptly builds non profit team consensus, strengthens donor-centric practices, and initiates time- and cost-saving efficiencies and leading edge fundraising technologies. Her nonprofit fundraising clients represent multiple non-profit sectors: athletics, arts and culture, community foundations, education, environment and animals, and health and human services. A member of YW Boston’s LeadBoston 2021 Cohort, Elizabeth approaches all aspects of her nonprofit consulting practice in ways that accelerate diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. She helps clients to analyze the root causes of organizational challenges in these areas, build consensus, and create processes and plans to catalyze change, better serve constituents, and realize organizational vision.
Elizabeth began her nonprofit fundraising (advancement) career as a member of the Harvard University Development Office. While there, she coordinated university-wide principal gifts cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, and worked closely with Harvard’s president, provost, academic deans, vice president of alumni affairs and development, and senior development staff across 10 faculties during the University’s $2.1 billion campaign. In addition, she solicited seven-figure gifts, staffed the Campaign Executive Committee, and led fundraising infrastructure and technology upgrades and development software improvement efforts.
In The Community: Significant Hands-on, Impactful Fundraising Experience
More than two decades of volunteer service has also enhanced Elizabeth’s ability to better serve her clients. Officer-level appointments on boards and steering committees, as well as key volunteer roles for alma maters and community-based organizations, have provided her with hands-on experience in all facets of non-profit advancement and governance. She co-founded the Independent Advancement Consultants of Massachusetts, a consortium of colleagues whose experiences serve as a rich resource to Elizabeth’s clients. In the private sector, Elizabeth has served on the Board of Directors of the Barringer Crater Company since 1998. This family-owned enterprise helps preserve and promote the Barringer Meteorite Crater near Flagstaff, Arizona.
